President's Corner  Rotary - Make Dreams RealWelcome to The Rotary Club of Hunt Valley!

You've probably heard a lot about us, but do you really know what Rotary is all about?

We're not really a 'club', but we're an active, non-political, non-religious, service organization with over 1.2 million members worldwide.  We're not really a charity either, but The Rotary Foundation is one of the largest volunteer-run charitable foundations in the world.  In fact, in 2007, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation gave TRF over $100 million dollars for our global efforts in fighting polio and other diseases, ending hunger, supporting education, and promoting goodwill.

We are, however, business people, community leaders, parents, students, retirees - really, we are just about anyone who is committed to helping people and making our world a healthier, safer, and more peaceful place.

From our little place here in Hunt Valley, our members have personally changed - and perhaps saved - lives in places like Malawi, Haiti, Kosovo,  Kygryzstan, and disaster areas throughout the US.  And, we are equally committed to making a difference right here in Maryland by partnering with our local schools and amazing organizations like Casey Cares, ACTC, Operation Warm, the MD Society for Sight, and many others.

And, it all starts with a very nice lunch each week at Hayfields Country Club.  So why not take an hour or so out of your week and experience for yourself what Rotary is all about?  You can even be my guest for lunch!  Please Email Me if you'd like more information.

It has never been easier to Make Dreams Real!

Yours in Service,

Greg Pierce
President, 2008-09
